The Umma party in Sudan led by former prime minister al-Sadeq al-Mahdi announced he proposed a request to the Sudanese government to amend the agreement under discussions in Mashakos that provides for ending the war taking place in Sudan since 19 years. Ghazi Salah Eddin, the advisor of the Sudanese President for peace affairs, has stressed that negotiations between the Sudanese government and the rebels movement in Mashakos are proceeding according to the set schedule and that talks are concentrating on the issue of authority sharing.
