Ghazi Salah Eddin, the advisor of the Sudanese President for peace affairs, has stressed that negotiations between the Sudanese government and the rebels movement in Mashakos are proceeding according to the set schedule and that talks are concentrating on the issue of authority sharing.

In press statements on Sunday, Salah Eddin explained that every and each side in the negotiations debates things that are necessary for it, but what is obligatory is the final agreement. He indicated that last week was dedicated for preliminary works relating to cease fire and the security arrangements, but it is not yet the ripe time to discuss military arrangements.

He continued that Sudan informed IGAD's secretariat about violations made the rebels of the cease- fire memorandum, and " we preserve our right in preventing any fundamental field amendments and to defend ourselves. However, we do not have the intention to escalate military operations."

The advisor of the Sudanese president also welcomed the Arab League appointing of an envoy to the peace negotiations in Mashakos, following the steps of the African federation in this regard.
