Ocalan appoints lawyers to defend him
Leader of the Kurdistani Workers Party (PKK) Abdullah Ocalan, currently detained in Turkey, has appointed two lawyers to defend him against accusations addressed to him.
The Anadolu news agency in Turkey quoted officials at the Turkish police as saying that Ocalan appointed Ahmad Zaki Ogholo and his brother, Salim Ogholo, as his two lawyers.
The agency added that it is not yet clear whether Salim Ogholo will agree to be a defense lawyer for Ocalan, but noted that his brother, Ahmad Zaki, appealed to the office of the attorney general in Ankara to permit him to see his client (Ocalan) for the second time since Ocalan's capture on February 15.
The first meeting between Ocalan and Ahmad Zaki took place one week after Ocalan's arrest.
