Cooperation protocol between Sudan and Turkey
The governments of Turkey and Sudan signed a cooperation protocol on Monday in Ankara to carry out a series of annual political consultations.
This was expressed during the visit made by Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael to Ankara.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ismael Cem, who signed the protocol with his Sudanese counterpart, praised "the dialogue between Turkey and Sudan in the area of fighting terrorism," in reference to the refusal of the Sudanese authorities to receive the leader of the PKK, Abdullah Ocalan, who intended to head for Sudan before his arrest on February 15 in Nairobi.
The Turkish minister said, "We seek to develop political relations between Turkey and Sudan as well as cooperation in fighting terrorism."
