Three explosions in southern Yemen
Eyewitnesses and security sources said that three explosions took place in Aden, in southern Yemen, shaking the city. No casualties were reported.
A bomb was detonated near a road in Kreter suburb. It was hidden among the rocks. Other two explosions took place in al-Tawahi and al-Mu'alla suburbs.
The explosions coincided with Yemen's celebration of October 14, the day on which the national front was established to mount a struggle against British occupation in 1963. The British occupation evacuated Aden and southern Yemen in 1967.
In the past several weeks, a series of explosions has taken place in Aden and other southern cities. Two civilians were killed on September 20, and other 27 wounded in a bomb explosion in a popular quarter in Aden.
The Yemeni authorities accused former officials (separatists from South Yemen in the clashes that erupted in 1994), who are now in exile, of being behind the explosions.
