Two new explosions in Yemen
A Yemeni security source said on Monday that an explosive charge went off on Sunday in the city of Zebjebar, 55 km north of Aden in a street where the headquarters of the General People's Congress party, led by President Ali Abdullah Saleh, is located.
The same street also houses the headquarters of the Yemeni Grouping for Reform.
The source added that another explosive went off on Saturday night in the main street of Jaar city, 75 km north of Aden. Two persons were arrested.
During recent weeks a series of explosions was registered in the southern part of Yemen.
To this end, in a statement to the United Arab Emirates daily al-Bayan, Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh said these explosions are carried out by persons from "inside Yemen. They are backed by separatist elements and leadership which broke the fire of war in the summer of 1994."
He added that the war of partition ended in defeating the separatists in the Southern part of Yemen. In a similar statement to the Jordanian daily "al-Rai." President Saleh said there are "no acts of violence in Yemen, rather individual incidents, like explosions.
