Armitaj, Kerry to visit Damascus

News reports in Damascus said yesterday that the resigned US under secretary of state Richard Armitage will visit Damascus on January 2nd, 2005 to meet with President Bashar al-Assad after a trip for him to Iraq.

The reports also added that the former US Presidential candidate John Kerry will be also visiting Syria in the first week of 2005 where he will be meeting with Syrian officials after also a visit to Iraq.
