Bush warns Syria, Iran from the consequences of interfering in Iraq

Originally published

The US President George W. Bush has warned each of Iran and Syria from the consequences of interfering in the Iraqi affairs, saying that such an interference will not be in their interests. This came after the accusations addressed by the Interim Iraqi defense minister Hazem al-Shallaan had accused each of Tehran and Damascus of involvement of what he called terrorist operations in Iraq.

George Bush said during his meeting with the Italian prime minister Sylvio Berlyskony that Washington frankly told countries of the region it is waiting for their help to establish a society where "people will be able to elect their leaders." He said he expects Iraq's neighboring states to work with the Interim Iraqi government in order to control the borders and blocked the way before the flow of individuals and sums to help what he called "terrorists.

Iran had denied involvement in any of the operations in Iraq and considered what was said by the Iraqi defense minister to this effect as untrue.

Iran's minister of the Interior Abdul Wahid Musawi considered that the mission of al-Shalaan in the Iraqi government is to repeat these accusations at the instructions of his "masters," accusing him of the lack of experience.

On Wednesday al-Shallan strongly criticized Tehran and considered that the key to terrorism lies in Iran. He said that Iran runs what he described as a huge cycle of terrorism in Iraq.
