A Kuwaiti daily quoted well-informed Iranian sources as saying that the Damascus summit between Syrian President Hafez al-Assad and Iranian President Mohammad Khatami discussed the question of three Gulf islands whose sovereignty is the subject of a dispute between Iran and the United Arab Emirates as a "gap in the wall of Iranian-Gulf cooperation."

US aircraft continued strikes against sites in the northern Iraq no-fly zone today. The US said aircraft flying as part of Operation Northern Watch were targeted by Iraqi radar, prompting the strikes north of Mosul. The attacks took place between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Iraqi time.

The Israeli fighters launched yesterday evening raids on sites affiliated to the Lebanese resistance in south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said that the Israeli fighters launched 4 air - ground missiles on the northern part of 'Gezin' city that coincides with artillery shelling for Israeli occupied forces for heights of El-Rafieh mountain in El-Tofah province in south Lebanon.
