Parliamentary elections will take place at the beginning of the coming month after learning the results of the Israeli presidential elections that will take place on Monday.

Ahmed Qrei, head of the Palestinian Legislative Council, said the Palestinian Central Council will hold its coming session in coming month with the participation of its 124 members, who represent the Palestinian Liberation Organization.

He added that the new parliament will succeed the legislative council, which was elected in 1996 in the first democratic vote during which Yasser Arafat was elected as president.

He added "Arafat will be among the candidates in the presidential elections."

He also added, "The restrictions imposed by the Oslo agreement will be canceled this time," and that the elections will witness representatives of Palestinians from outside Gaza and the Arab regions.
