Strong Syrian, Lebanese Iranian bonds
The Iranian paper Keyhan Al-Aarabi said in its Saturday issue that Syria and Iran intend to draw up a practical and effective perspective to build tripartite cooperation which brings together Tehran, Damascus and Beirut towards strengthening their stances and future performance in confrontation of common risks and dangers.
The paper quoted diplomatic sources in Damascus, which it described as confidential, as saying that this perspective backs the vision held both by Syria and Iran on the need to expand the area of Arab-Iranian cooperation, eliminate tensions and crises in the region and limit the US-backed Israeli superiority.
The sources did not rule out that the visit of the Iranian president will mark the beginning of expanding a regional circle which is organized in strategic relations to counter challenges, which, it has been proven with the passing of time, can be only confronted with the cooperation maintained between brothers and friends, namely by a "mere Arab-Iranian regional cooperation."
The paper asserted that the Syrian and Iranian sides discussed the issue of regional security which related to more than certain parts of the region. The paper added this issue of regional security extends from the Gulf to Lebanon, Palestine and the Turkish-Israeli threats as well as the foreign fleets in the region which constitute a similar danger to the region.
