- Saudi Arabia calls for inaugurating an opening on the borders with Iraq
Saudi Arabia has called on the UN to open the "Jdedat Arar" opening so as to allow Saudi commodities to pass to Iraq in line with the oil-for-food program and UN resolution 986. Therefore this will be the fifth crossing opened for the passage of commodities to Iraq. The other four opening are through Jordan, Turkey, Syria and Um Qaser. Talks between King Abdullah II of Jordan and the Libyan President Muammar al-Qaddafi started on Wednesday at al-Aqaba city on the Red sea coast, in a bilateral meeting during which the two leaders discussed current Arab conditions and the need of revitalizing joint Arab action and backing Arab solidarity. - Peres peace institute gives donation to Jordanian computer company
