Ocalan's brother announces continued armed struggle

Othman Ocalan, brother of Abdullah Ocalan, leader of the Kurdistani Workers Party (PKK) has announced the party's continued armed struggle in Turkey.

This was expressed in a statement Othman made to the German Shtern magazine in its issue to be published on Thursday.

AFP said that Othman Ocalan noted that the PKK is now obliged to resort to the military solution because Turkish government thinks only of exterminating the PKK cadres. Othman Ocalan added that it will not be possible again to initiate a dialogue with Turkey, unless the Turkish government releases his arrested brother and recognizes him as a representative to the Kurds.
