Jordanian Information Minister Nasser Joudeh has demanded Israel's withdrawal from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights and south Lebanon and called for the realization of just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

He indicated "Jordan's firm stance towards the Middle East peace process."

In a press conference, the Jordanian minister held on Tuesday in Amman he expressed his country's appreciation to friendly Arab and foreign countries in their backing for Jordan.

Concerning the campaign mounted by Israel in trying to create doubts on conditions in Jordan, the Jordanian minister said: "Let them (the Israelis) do what they like. We are a country known for its stability and we are keen to develop good relations with everybody especially with our Arab brothers. We do not accept anybody (in reference to Israel) telling us how to conduct our relations with neighboring Arab countries or with foreign countries."

As for Jordan's relations with Iran, the Jordanian minister cited press statements made recently by King Abdullah bin al-Hussein in which he explained that Jordan considers Iran a "sisterly Islamic country and that it is a very important country."
