Abdullah and his wife, Rania, to be crowned in May

Originally published

Official sources at the royal palace in Amman told the AFP that official protocols will be organized for the investiture of Jordan's King Abdullah as of the middle of next May, when the three-month mourning period on the death of the late King Hussein will end.

This measure, the sources added, will permit in the future celebrations of Abdullah's investiture on a date different from the death anniversary of his late father.

The sources added that Abdullah will not make of his wife immediately a Queen in honor of Queen Noor. The sources stated that the King "will sign a Royal wish by the end of the mourning period, placing Prince Rania as the Queen of Jordan while Queen Noor will be the Queen mother and can keep all her privileges."
