Jordanian ambassador in Tehran: No one summoned me to any protest
The Jordanian ambassador in Tehran, Sheikh Nouh Ali, stated that he was not summoned to the Jordanian Foreign Ministry to provide information on an official Iranian protest regarding reported statements in a speech by Jordan's King Abdullah.
The Jordanian ambassador said the chief of the Middle East department in the Foreign Ministry, Hamayon Ali Zada, had phoned him on the same day the speech was published, and he demanded clarifications.
Nouh Ali said he communicated with Amman to get a clarification from the Jordanian Foreign Ministry and sent a copy of the clarification by fax to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, but it was more preferable to go personally to the Iranian foreign ministry directly.
