Iraq offers $14,000 reward for downing of any US or British jets
Iraqi President Saddam Hussein granted a financial reward of 25 million dinars (nearly $14,000) for downing any US or British jets which patrol the no-fly zones in northern and southern Iraq.
An Iraqi newspaper reported yesterday that Saddam Hussein issued a decree offering the reward rather than a reward of 10 million dinars ($5,000) for any Iraqi air defense unit that drops a hostile missile and $2,500 for each Iraqi citizen who arrests the captain of a hostile jet.
