Iraq accuses Saudi Arabia of taking its share of oil

Chairman of the Iraqi National Council (parliament) Sadoun Hammadi has accused Saudi Arabia of attempting to perpetuate the embargo imposed on Iraq in order to have its oil production share allotted to it by OPEC.

In a statement to the Iraqi daily al-Thawra published on Sunday, Hammadi added that the Saudi share of oil production set by OPEC is 8.7 million barrels, including the Iraqi share which has become its own due to the sanctions imposed on exports of Iraqi oil since 1990.
