Memo of understanding to be signed between Arab League, China

Arab League (AL) Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs Muhammad Zakaraya Ismail has asserted the importance of a pending memo of understanding in boosting Arab-Chinese relations, noting that it will be signed today.

In a statement Ismail made on Saturday in Cairo he noted that the memo of understanding is an embodiment of the decision adopted by the AL council last September to foster Arab-Chinese relations in all areas.

The AL official added that the memo is regarded as a new mechanism for maintaining consultation and coordination between the two sides in international circles to ensure China's continued support for Arab issues.
