Urgent meeting for the Arab foreign ministers on current conditions

Originally published

The Arab League has called for an emergency meeting of the AL council on Wednesday on the level of foreign ministers to make consultations on the current Arab conditions, the US-British attack against Iraq and means of convening the plenary Arab summit recently called for by Yemen.

Arab diplomatic sources in Cairo said that AL Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid has sent urgent messages to the Arab foreign ministers in which he proposed convening such an emergency meeting. In press statements he made on Thursday, Abdul Meguid expressed hopes for a rapid Arab response to convene the meeting.
