Explosion near German embassy in Sanaa
A bomb explosion in a car stationed in front of the German embassy in the Yemeni capital on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of three persons and wounded several others.
A Yemeni security officer was quoted as saying that the two persons who were killed were military men who were supposed to have been inspecting security measures around the embassy.
The officer added that the determining reasons and motives behind the explosion need time to be explained. Some residents in the area expressed conviction that the explosion, which destroyed the windows of neighboring buildings, targeted the house of a Yemeni tribal leader which faces the headquarters of the German embassy.
