AL condemns Turkish new incursion in Northern Iraq

The Arab league (AL) general secretariat has called upon the Turkish government to withdraw its troops from North Iraq and to stop such actions which will have a negative effect on the historical relations between Turkey and the Arab world and threaten stability in the region.

AL assistant secretary general for Arab affairs Ahmad Bin Hali said that the AL is following with deep concern, the Turkish forces deep incursion into the Iraqi territories, expressing rejection for this action and for all the pretexts made by Turkey to justify it. Bin Hali added that the AL considers the military operations a violation of the Iraqi sovereignty rather then a good neighborly policy.

He explained " these operations contradict the international law, the UN charter and the Security Council's resolutions."
