OIC blames Israel for ordeals
The Organization of the Islamic Conference OIC secretary General Ezz eddine al-Iragi said that Israel is behind the ordeals and calamities befallen on the Islamic world.
In a statement granted to the Jordanian daily al-Dostour in Amman on Tuesday, al-Iraqi added " When analysing political, economic and human conditions in the Islamic world, one would easily reach the conclusion that Israel has always been behind the ordeals." He continued that "Israel is responsible for what is taking place in the region. It carries out acts of sabotage against Muslim states in order to achieve its malicious objectives aimed at fomenting sedition among the OIC member states," stressing " We shall not permit Israel or others to encroach upon our Islamic unity."
On the Turkish-Syrian crisis, the OIC chief added it must be solved by peaceful means and reconciliation. He commented "bilateral differences should not, under any circumstances, lead to armed action." Al-Iraqi referred in this respect to the positive endeavours made by Iran and Egypt to end differences between Syria and Turkey.
