Syrian PNF stresses dialogue with Turkey
Chaired by Syrian Vice President Zuheir Masharqa, the central leadership of the Progressive National Front (PNF) held a meeting in Damascus. The participants in the meeting listened to a political report read by Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa on a number of matters pertaining to Arab, regional and international conditions.
The participants reviewed recent political developments, especially those related to Syrian - Turkish relations, which faced a sudden Turkish escalation. This escalation was confronted by Syria's rational stand based on using the language of dialogue as the only way, taking into consideration good neighborhood and mutual interests of the two friendly peoples.
The Syrian leadership found that the meeting of the security committees constitutes a good step on the way to solving all pending matters between the two countries and that those matters could be settled through diplomatic dialogue "by the use of the language of sense and logic and the adoption of principles agreed upon in relations among states," the participants commented.
The PNF studied the Israeli-Palestinian agreement. It came to the conclusion that it "was a deformed picture of the Oslo accord which events and facts have proved ineffectual and inefficient in restoring the lands and rights of the Palestinians."
