Jordanian publishers deny visit to Israel
Jordanian Publishers Federation on Sunday denied Israeli claims that several Jordanian publishers recently visited Israel and participated in a book exhibition there.
Deputy chairman of the administrative commission, Maher Kayyali, said that Israeli reports about this visit are groundless. He asserted that the Jordanian Publishers Federation did not and will not take part in any cultural activity in Israel, adding that the federation's position towards normalization with Israel is clear-cut and known.
Last week, members of the federation expelled the Israeli ambassador in Amman, when the latter, his cultural attache and guards entered the hall of the book exhibition held in Amman. The act was made as an expression of the Jordanian publishers' refusal to maintain normalization with Israel.
