Contacts to regain Jordanian properties in Israel

Originally published

The Jordanian ambassador to Israel, Omar Rifa'i, said that contacts are underway with Israeli parliamentarians in order to amend the Israeli Absentees' Property Law issued in 1995 so that it can match the Jordanian-Israeli peace treaty. Rifa'i said amending the law, which in itself violates the peace treaty between Jordan and Israel, will enable Jordanian citizens to regain their properties in Israel which they were forced to leave during the 1948 war.
