Israeli jails permit visits from Jordanian detainees' families
Jordanian Minister of Information Nasser Joudah announced arrangements for visits by families of 14 Jordanian detainees referred to by Israel as security prisoners. He said the Jordanian embassy attained Israeli approval for the visits and is waiting for a permit for individuals from the family of each detainee.
Joudah said the embassy was able to have Israel agree to gather the detainees in Asklan jail after they were split up among three jails.
Meanwhile the Israeli authorities have released a group of Jordanian detainees within the deal that also released the founder of Hamas, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, after Israel tried to assassinate Hamas official Khaled Mishal in Jordan last year.
