Tripartite Syrian, Turkish, Egyptian FM s meeting in Cairo
The Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am quoted well-informed diplomatic sources in Cairo as saying that Cairo will soon witness a tripartite meeting on the level of foreign ministers, attended by Egypt, Turkey and Syria. The paper added that Iran's foreign minister may join the meeting.
The sources told the paper on Wednesday that Egypt has circulated official invitations to both Syria and Turkey to attend this meeting after the efforts of the Egyptian mediation succeeded in calming down the crisis between the two countries.
The sources added that it was agreed during the shuttle tours made by Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa between Damascus and Ankara to halt exchanged media campaigns between the two countries as a first step in rebuilding confidence and starting a direct dialogue over all suspended issues.
