Moussa: Egypt continues efforts to ease Turkish - Syrian tensions
Egypt pursued its diplomatic efforts yesterday to defuse the crisis between Turkey and Syria, where foreign minister Amr Moussa made a phone call on Tuesday with his Turkish counterpart, Ismael Cem.
Moussa said that during this call he informed the Turkish side on the Syrian point of view toward the points discussed while he was in Damascus, adding that he will make a similar phone call to his Syrian counterpart, Farouk al-Sharaa.
Concerning the outcomes of Egyptian mediation efforts, Moussa said, "We have already tackled points towards which the two sides have nearly been assured, and we will pursue our endeavors, attempting to contain the situation and settle the crisis."
