Khartoum confirms defeat of Garang's forces

Sudanese Minister of Interior General Abdul Rahim Mohammed Hussein confirmed that the Sudanese army was able to end the battle that began last month and halt the progress of southern rebels, who Sudan says are aided by Ugandan forces, and end rebel opposition in this period of attack on East Equatoria state.

Hussein confirmed that the coming stage will witness how the invading forces will be totally suppressed, stating that governmental forces are achieving great success daily while rebel forces are retreating.
