Sudanese forces closing the universities for the war

Originally published

The Sudanese authorities renewed their allegation that Uganda is involved in the attack currently underway by the forces of the Sudanese People's Liberation Army, commanded by Colonel John Garang, on government sites in southern Sudan.

Khartoum believes that the new attack targets the city of Juba, the largest city in the south. The rebels have announced several times during the 15-year Sudanese civil war their intention to occupy Juba.

Garang announced that he was able to cut the main roads linking Juba and Touriet.
