It is decided that the meeting of the Arab solidarity committees will be held in November in Baghdad for the first time since the 1990 Gulf War.

The head of the Egyptian Committee For Solidarity, Ahmed Hamroush, said the committee decided to convene its coming meeting in Baghdad on November 20 with the participation of all its members to confirm solidarity with the Iraqi people against the siege imposed against Iraq.

He added, "During the meeting, we will discuss the developments in the peace process and the status of the Arab people under the international sanctions."

Earlier this week, the Iraqi government boycotted a symposium of Arab -Kurdish talks regulated by the Egyptian Committee For Solidarity, to discuss the Washington peace agreement recently ratified between northern Iraqi Kurdish faction leaders Masoud Barzani and Jalal Talibani. in which representatives of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Amr Botani and Ghazi Zibary, participated.

Nabil Negm, the Iraqi deputy at the Arab League, refused to participate in the symposium, protesting that the Egyptian Committee for Solidarity is adopting the Kurdish stand, and considers it as intervention in the internal affairs of Iraq.
