Talibani informs Cairo of agreement with Barzani

The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Jalal Talibani, informed Cairo of the details of the agreement he signed last Thursday in Washington with the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani.

In statements to ArabicNews.com today, PUK political bureau member Adnan El-Mofti said this agreement will achieve stability for the Kurds of northern Iraq, end the suffering that has lasted for four years, allow an opportunity for development projects and facilitate the implementation of the oil-for-food program.

El-Mofti also said the reconciliation agreement creates good circumstances for dealing with the central government in Baghdad, confirming the Kurds' concern for Iraq's unity.
