The Yemeni news agency Sabaa said that two persons were executed on Monday for committing a crime. The agency stated that the two killers, Muhammad Ahmad Dawoud and Abdullah Saleh al-Mustafa were convicted of the "deliberate" killing of Awad Saleh Dawoud.

They were executed in the presence of relatives of the victim and a large number of citizens. Since the beginning of June, seven persons have been executed in Yemen for killings.

Meanwhile, two civilians were killed and another 10 were reported wounded on Sunday when an explosive charge went off in a popular market in Aden, the main city in southern Yemen. A Yemeni official source was quoted as saying that TNT explosives hidden inside the carriage of a roving salesman exploded in a market in al-Sheikh Othman suburb in the northern part of Aden.

The source added that one of the persons killed was a child who was selling water, and the second was a tea-seller. It indicated that the seller who was pushing the carriage in which the explosive went off was seriously wounded.
