Aden explosions may have foreign links

Originally published

Yemeni Minister of Interior General Hussein Mohammed Arab said the plan of a gang for foreign interests was behind the explosion that took place in Aden on Monday in which two persons were killed and at least 16 persons were injured.

In press statements yesterday, the Yemeni minister described an explosion that targeted a petroleum pipeline in the region of Arousa east of Sanaa on Friday, as coming within the same operation that is financed by suspected foreign fronts. He said there is a large network that was trained for this purpose and that security bodies detained most of its members.

He also added that he is "very satisfied" with security, "Thus we sent days ago a delegation to Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) aiming at activating the security agreement and discussing issues related to smuggling and border security incidents."
