Yemeni socialist party criticizes government agenda

Originally published

Yemeni Socialist Party political bureau member Abd El-Ghani Abdul Kader criticized the program that was presented by the government of Abdul-Karim Iryani to the council of deputies for approval.

In statements to ArabicNews.com, he said that the program blames the people for the current conditions. He added that the program has many promises and commitments by the government to be fulfilled during the remaining period, but it would have been better to focus on limiting corruption.

The socialist leader said that the government used the economic crisis and the reduction of petroleum's prices to justify the shortage in its budget, and it ignored the option of limiting spending.

He also threatened that more than 4,000 employees in the Airlines company will hold a general strike on Saturday to demand an increase in their salaries.
