New Yemeni government takes constitutional oath
The new Yemeni government swore the constitutional oath before Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh yesterday.
The new government, formed by Prime Minister Abdul Karim Iryani comprises 30 members, including 22 persons who were ministers in the previous government. Most of the ministers belong to the party of the ruling General People's Congress, headed by Saleh.
The Yemeni president urged the new government to continue its policy of administrative, financial and economic reform in the country.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni opposition criticized the formation of the new government, describing it as "old", saying that it does not give hope for the future because the new government will not make any changes in the policy or take any measures of reform or improvements in the country.
