Iran for making dialogue with US people

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi has supported the idea of dialogue between Iran and the American people but he ruled out any normalization of relations with Washington unless the latter changes its position towards Iran.

Kharazi was quoted by AFP as saying in an interview published yesterday in an Athens Greek daily that Washington opposes economic growth in the region, stating that Turkish - Israeli military cooperation, which is encouraged by the US, is an additional obstacle before the occurrence of a rapprochement with the US.

"It is up to the US to decide whether it wants to improve relations with Iran or not," he said.
