Iran for consolidating relations with Gulf states

Originally published

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi has stressed that the Gulf area is witnessing a new climate and all Gulf states view the future with great optimism.

In a statement to the London-based Middle East daily published yesterday, the Iranian president said that mutual political interest is felt in the Arab Gulf states and Iran to develop bilateral relations, noting that one of the main principles advocated by the Iranian President Mohammad Kahtami is that no country has the right to interfere in others' affairs.

He stressed that Iran is pressing her weight to bolster relations with Saudi Arabia as "one of Iran's national policy principles," calling upon the US to change its policy toward Iran, noting that dialogue with the US is still far off.
