Escalated Israeli aggressions against South Lebanon
Israeli warplanes on Thursday carried out intensive provocative raids in south Lebanon airspace, foremost over Sidon, al-Nabatieh and al-Tuffah districts.
Lebanese security sources said that the Israeli artillery bombarded the outskirts of al-Nabatieh al-Fuka, Kafr Tabneit, al-Zahrani river course and several towns and villages adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon.
The Israeli bombardment also covered the towns of Qabriha, Wadi al-Hajir and al-Ghandouria in the central sector and al-Tuffah district.
The aggressions were accompanied by heavy machine-gun fire on routes linking al-Tuffah district to the occupied portion of the South.
Israeli warplanes flew at low altitude over the western and central sectors and al-Tuffah district. In retaliation, the Lebanese national resistance carried out a series of attacks targeted the occupation and Lahd's militia positions and patrols in the occupied South.
As a result several militia men were killed or wounded, according to a statement released by the Lebanese national resistance which added that among the dead was Jamil Iskandar.
