New draft of the local election law amended

The new draft of the local election law was amended during the cabinet's ordinary meeting, yesterday, in the governmental palace. Presided by Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, the ministers approved Minister of Interior Michel Murr's project, which consisted of appointing one third of the municipal seats.

They also endorsed a series of administrative appointments which were suspended for weeks due to disagreements between Hariri and president Elias Hrawi.
