Advanced fighters to the Algerian army from South Africa
ArabicNews.com has learned that Algeria is strongly consideing buying arms from South Africa, especially those arms needed by the Algerian forces in combating terrorism and extremism.
The Algerian army needs the South African Seeker reconnaissance planes which fly without a pilot and which were used by South Africa to anticipate any uprising or tension during the 1994 elections. It also needs the Roifa Luck attack helicopters which are strong competitors to the US Apache helicopters.
An Algerian source confirmed that the Seeker planes will be bought by Algeria for use in taking photos of the jungles where terrorists and extremists hide. These planes will help the Algerian forces to track the moves of the terrorists and attack them without much confrontation as they fly without any human assistance.
