Originally published

The committee in charge of defending the "Lebanese missing and the detainees" in Lebanon called on the Lebanese government to convene an extraordinary session to discuss the issue of the mass grave found in the Bekaa.

Lebanese security and medical sources said that specialists in legislative medicines tested the remains of 26 of the bodies found in the mass grave.

The grave was found near the former main headquarters of the Syrian intelligence in Anjar, east of Lebanon.

One official Syrian source told al-Jazeera satellite TV on Sunday that the mass grave was a result of the fighting between the Lebanese forces led by Samir Jaajaa and the commander of the former Lebanese army Michael Aoun during the civil war.

The committee also asked to raise this issue at the UN on the ground that this massacre is an an act against humanity.

Examination is ongoing on the remains of other bodies in the site which is situated near Prophet Aziz shrine, just one kilometer from Anjar.
