Kidnapping of Lebanese plane over debt issue
A Middle East passengers plane was detained at Istanbul International Airport before departing to Lebanon due to government debt to a German company.
A well informed Turkish source said that the plane Airbus 321 was about to leave Istanbul Airport when a judicial decision by the Turkish penal Court ordered the detention of the plane.
The plane, he added, would remain in custody until a solution is reached to the issue. Some wassengers were sent to Lebanon on board of other airlines and the rest requested to remain Istanbul and were transferred to hotels until the problem is solved.
