Originally published

The Lebanese security forces on Saturday foiled an attempt to bomb the car of a Christian judge in Alma coast area, 20 km north of Beirut.

On Sunday, the Lebanese security forces found equipment for explosives under the car of the judge Nazim Khouri after he summoned the police after seeing a man fleeing through the wall of his house together with another man waiting for him outside.

The police said at the site of the incident that it seized electrical wire and batteries but no explosives linked to an instrument put under Khouti's car.

The police added that the suspected man placed the blowing up instrument and fled when another car approached, leaving the cover of the car's front open.

Judge Khouri presides over investigations of money laundering, that might have political dimensions, in the city bank which has been liquidated under the knowledge of the Lebanese Central Bank after it had met financial difficulties.
