US sources stresses Syria has no relation to assassination of Hariri

American sources told Lebanese newspaper of Assafir that Detlev Mehlis, head of the UN international investigation team into the assassination of former Lebanese Premier Rafiq al-Hariri, did not find any evidences that Syria had relation to the crime.

The paper quoted the American sources as saying in statements published by the paper on Wednesday that UN Secretary General Kofi Annan met recently with Mehlis in Geneva and asked him to avoid any accusations unless there is a concrete evidence.
