Lebanon will be a source of stability: Lebanese president
Lebanon's President, Emile Lahoud, said Monday that Lebanon is committed to be a source of stability for itself and its surroundings, adding that current conditions require solidarity among the Lebanese on national and strategic issues.
"Lebanon will not change its position vis-a-vis the Arab- Israeli conflict and the requirements of the just and comprehensive peace which ensures security and stability in the region," Lahoud said during a meeting with a number of Lebanese political figures.
Meanwhile, Chairman-elect of the Social National Syrian Party in Lebanon, Ali Qansu, underlined the importance of having the best relations between Syria and Lebanon in all fields.
Qansu, in a speech while taking over his new post, called for activating the Lebanese-Syrian Higher Council's work, protecting the national resistance, and coordinating efforts between it and the Lebanese army in order to build a defensive strategy in the face of the Israeli aggressions.
