Originally published

Commander-in-Chief of the Lebanese Army Gen. Michael Suleiman has expressed appreciation over the Syrian army's support to Lebanon and its sacrifices to ensure security and stability in Lebanon.

During the annual ceremony for honoring the retired officers on Sunday, Suleiman said "the withdrawal of the Syrian army from Lebanon didn't affect the standing relations between the two armies," asserting the mutual cooperation between the two armies in facing the Israeli aggression. Suleiman stressed the importance of protecting the Lebanese national resistance, referring to the necessity of unifying all efforts to uncover criminals who carried out the explosions in Lebanon.
