Council of Arab Ministers of Justice meets in Cairo

Originally published

The Council of Arab Ministers of Justice stressed importance of Arab coordination at the international forums regarding procedures taken to fight terrorism, particularly on the UN draft agreements on fighting all forms of terrorism.

At the end of its 20th session Tuesday, the Council approved setting up a joint committee to evaluate the executive procedures taken by the Arab states as a part of the African agreement to fight terrorism.

It also asserted importance of boosting the efforts exerted to hold an international conference under the auspices of the UN to discuss the real reasons behind the phenomena of terrorism and to reach an agreement on the definition of this phenomena to distinguish between it and the people's right to fight occupation.

The council rejected accusations seeking to attribute terrorism to Arabs and Muslims.
