Lebanese premier and Syria's presence in Lebanon
Lebanese Prime Minister Omar Karami on Thursday said the Syrian presence in Lebanon is establishing stability that no one can ignore.
In a meeting with Lebanese Journalists chairman Melhem Karam, Karami said that for the first time in the UN and the UN Security Council history a resolution that is interfering in the interior affaires of an independent state that is member of the UN is issued.
"This is an unprecedented matter where all the resolution terms are voicing Israel's view and demands," Karami said.
He noted that the issue of 1559 resolution is related to Lebanon's stability and no one would like Lebanon to go back to the state of chaos that Lebanon was living in before the Taiff accord.
The Lebanese premier underlined that Israel was the aggressor due to the proof that it did not stop its threats nor its daily aggression on Lebanon saying no day is passing without seeing a breach of our regional water and our sky.
Karami emphasized that it was impossible to send the Lebanese army to the south and put it on the borders before the enemy noting that sending the army to the south is an Israeli demand because they want it to guard the borders.
"We are with the resistance as long as there is an occupied land and we are with a resistance that knows its duties and keeps Lebanon's interest," the Lebanese premier said.
